The coroner’s office has released the identity of a 53-year-old man who died after he was found unresponsive following a crash on a residential street in Lake in the Hills Tuesday afternoon.

The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District and Lake in the Hills Police Department responded around 3:06 p.m. Tuesday to the 1100 block of Heavens Gate in Lake in the Hills for a report of a vehicle crash.

The Kia sedan had left the roadway and struck a mailbox and a tree.

The driver, a 53-year-old man, was found unconscious and not breathing in the vehicle, Decker said.

Lifesaving measures were performed and paramedics rushed him to a local hospital.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital, Decker said, adding that his death was due to natural causes.

McHenry County Coroner Dr. Michael Rein identified the victim on Friday as David Sevilla, 53, who is believed to have resided in Lake in the Hills.

Rein said Sevilla did not have any visible injuries from the crash and an autopsy was not conducted.

The crash only involved the one vehicle and no other occupants were inside Sevilla’s car.

A tow truck removed the vehicle, which sustained only minor damage, from the scene.
