A Woodstock man has been arrested after authorities say he caused a crash that left a woman in her 60s with serious, life-threatening injuries in Wisconsin.
The Madison, Wisconsin Police Department responded around 9:17 p.m. Tuesday to South Park Street and Cedar Street for a vehicle crash with injuries.
Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes said officers found a two-vehicle crash.
One of the drivers fled the scene on foot but was apprehended, Barnes said.
Officers arrested Terry M. Wasicak, 38, of Woodstock, as he was walking on foot from the scene.
He showed signs of alcohol impairment, according to Madison Police Department Public Information Officer Stephanie Fryer.
Barnes said the other driver involved suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
Fryer said the victim, a woman in her 60s, was hospitalized for serious injuries but her condition has stabilized.
Wasicak was charged with operating while intoxicated causing injury, reckless driving causing great bodily harm and resisting or obstructing an officer.
Wasicak has since been released from the Dane County Jail after posting bond.
He was ordered not to operate a vehicle and not consume or possess alcohol.
