Authorities say it was “fortunate” no one was injured after an SUV crashed into an occupied medical office building in Huntley Tuesday afternoon.
The Huntley Fire Protection District and Huntley Police Department responded around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday to Ascension Medical Group Illinois in the 12100 block of Regency Parkway for a vehicle crash.
Firefighters arrived to find a vehicle collision that resulted in damage to the building, according to Huntley Fire Protection District Communication Specialist Alex Vucha.
The vehicle had struck the building and then reversed into an adjacent parking space.
Vucha said paramedics evaluated the adult male driver and adult female passenger at the scene.
Both of the vehicle’s occupants declined medical treatment and transport to the hospital.
The medical office was open at the time of the crash. “Fortunately, no patients or staff members inside were injured,” Vucha said.
The Huntley Public Works and Engineering Department was called to assess the structural damage to the building.
The Huntley Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
Police officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment on what led to the incident.
