A Crystal Lake man allegedly stabbed a victim multiple times, leaving him with serious wounds, during a fight in Lake in the Hills on Monday, court records show.
Zachary T. Krahn, 44, of Crystal Lake, was charged with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
Police officials said the incident occurred around 12:42 a.m. Monday in the 100 block of Hilltop Drive in Lake in the Hills.
Krahn was engaged in a physical fistfight with another man, according to a criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court.
The complaint said Krahn used a Milwaukee folding razor blade utility knife to cut the other man three times.
The victim suffered two large deep lacerations on his left thigh and a small cut to his nose.
The victim required immediate medical attention, the complaint said.
Police officials said further information on the incident was not immediately available.
Officers with the Lake in the Hills Police Department arrested Krahn and transported him to the McHenry County Jail.
McHenry County Judge Carl Metz released Krahn from custody after the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office did not file a petition to detain him.
Metz ordered Krahn to have no contact with the victim and not possess weapons unless for work purposes.
Krahn is scheduled to appear in court again on December 23 for a status of preliminary hearing.
