A roadway was temporarily shut down after a truck rolled over and spilled logs onto the road and ditch near Woodstock Sunday morning, fire officials said.
The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District and the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office responded around 11:08 a.m. Sunday to the area of Charles Road and Nelson Road in unincorporated Woodstock.
Woodstock Fire/Rescue District Public Information Officer Alex Vucha told Lake and McHenry County Scanner that a call was received for a rollover crash with a person possibly trapped.
Firefighters arrived and found a rolled-over truck blocking both lanes of traffic just east of the intersection.
The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, had already exited the truck and did not report any injuries, Vucha said.
The truck had been transporting small wooden logs, which were scattered across the roadway and into the nearby ditch.
Vucha said firefighters assisted in clearing the logs and debris.
Charles Road was shut down from Nelson Road to Lamb Road, according to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.
The roadway remained closed for over an hour until the debris could be cleared and the truck could be removed.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the crash.
