Police responding to a call of shots fired found a man shot and a woman with lacerations, both of which were transported to the hospital, in North Chicago.

The North Chicago Police Department responded around 7:21 p.m. Friday to the 2100 block of Grove Avenue in North Chicago.

North Chicago Assistant Police Chief Gary Lunn said officers received a report of shots fired.

Officers arrived and found a man who had an injury consistent with a gunshot wound to his hand, Lunn said.

Officers later found a woman who had suffered several lacerations in the same area.

Lunn said no firearm was found and neither party involved was cooperative with officers.

Both subjects also did not want to pursue criminal charges against the other and there were no witnesses, Lunn said.

Paramedics transported the man and woman to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for treatment.
