The FBI has released photos and is seeking tips after masked suspects approached a technician who was servicing an ATM and robbed the ATM in Lake in the Hills Tuesday evening.

The Lake in the Hills Police Department responded around 6:07 p.m. Tuesday to the Bank of America, 240 North Randall Road, for a report of a robbery.

Police officials said several suspects in all black wearing ski masks approached an ATM outside the bank.

The ATM was being serviced by a technician. The suspects stole from the ATM, police officials said.

The technician was able to get into their work vehicle and flee from the suspects before calling 911, police officials said.

The FBI Chicago Field Office said suspects were wearing dark-colored clothing and gloves, in addition to the ski masks.

The suspects fled in a dark-colored sedan on Randall Road traveling southbound.

The sedan was described as a newer model four-door with tinted windows, according to the FBI.

No one was injured and police said there does not appear to be an “additional or immediate ongoing” threat.

The FBI said the suspects did not display any weapons during the robbery.

Prior to the incident, Bank of America had announced they were permanently shutting down the branch effective January 28.

As of late Wednesday afternoon, the suspects remained at large.

The FBI said they were not disclosing the amount of money stolen in the incident.
