Police say they are investigating after a gunman entered the lobby of a hotel in Buffalo Grove and robbed the clerk of money early Saturday morning.
The Buffalo Grove Police Department responded around 3:17 a.m. Saturday to the Extended Stay America, 1525 Busch Parkway, for a report of an armed robbery.
Police officials said witnesses reported an offender approached the front desk and jumped over the counter
The suspect, who was displaying a handgun, demanded cash from the clerk.
The offender fled eastbound across Milwaukee Avenue on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. No injuries were reported, police officials said.
The suspect was described as a white or Hispanic male with an Eastern European accent, wearing a red jacket, grey pants and light-colored shoes.
Officers were unable to locate the suspect and an investigation is ongoing. Police did not release surveillance images.
