A Libertyville police officer has received a Heroes Award from the MADD organization for his “unwavering dedication” to arresting intoxicated drivers.
Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) recognizes law enforcement officers each year who demonstrate exceptional dedication to its mission.
Their mission involves eliminating drugged and drunk driving, preventing underage drinking and supporting victims and survivors of impaired driving crashes.
The Libertyville Police Department said Monday that Officer Jakub Sokol received the distinguished MADD Heroes Award this year.
Sokol received the award in recognition of his “dedication to combating impaired driving” throughout the 2023 year.
“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Officer Sokul for his well-deserved award,” the police department said.
“His commitment to ensuring the safety of our roads by combating impaired driving is truly commendable and a testament to his unwavering dedication to the community he serves,” the department added.
