The Mercyhealth Hospital in Crystal Lake has announced it is opening a new memory and dementia clinic to focus on “state-of-the-art treatment” for dementia and memory care.

Mercyhealth said that the Mercyhealth Memory and Dementia Clinic will be located in Mercyhealth Hospital and Physician Clinic – Crystal Lake, 875 South Route 31 in Crystal Lake.

The clinic will focus on state-of-the-art treatment for dementia and memory care.

The clinic will also help to connect caregivers to resources in the community.

Hospital officials said the clinic will be led by Dr. Amarish Davé, who is the hospital’s Associate Medical Director and now also the Medical Director for the memory and dementia clinic.

Davé brings more than 20 years of experience in neurology.

After earning his medical degree at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove, Davé completed his Internal Medicine residency at Christ Hospital Medical Center in Oak Lawn and his Neurology residency, selected as Chief Resident, at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

“I believe in taking a holistic approach to memory loss, combining the latest diagnostic and treatment options along with non-medication data driven interventions to slow down the progression of the memory loss,” Davé said.

Hospital officials said additional clinic hours will also be offered at Mercyhealth Woodstock, 2000 Lake Avenue in Woodstock.
