A teenager suffered minor injuries after a car crashed into the garage of a home under construction, leaving it with structural damage, in Marengo Tuesday afternoon.

The Marengo Fire & Rescue Districts and Marengo Police Department responded around 3:20 p.m. Tuesday to the 900 block of Partridge Circle in Marengo for a report of a crash.

Marengo Fire & Rescue Districts Public Information Officer Alex Vucha said crews received an Apple crash detection alert and reports of a vehicle that had struck a house.

Firefighters arrived and found a Honda Accord that had collided with the garage of a one-story duplex.

“This incident serves as an important reminder to slow down and practice safe driving, especially in residential areas where added caution is essential,” Kjellgren said.
