Brandon M. Walsh, 30, of Woodstock.

A man who was arrested for possessing a large amount of cocaine in Woodstock allegedly threatened an officer and made a vulgar statement referring to the officer’s wife.

Brandon M. Walsh, 30, of Woodstock, was charged with manufacturing or delivering cocaine between 15-100 grams, possession of 15-100 grams of cocaine and threatening a public official.

A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court alleges Walsh was found in possession of a substance containing cocaine around 9:40 p.m. Thursday in Woodstock.

Walsh had the intent to deliver the substance, which was more than 15 grams and under 100 grams, the complaint said.

Officers with the Woodstock Police Department arrested Walsh.

A separate criminal complaint said Walsh verbally threatened a Woodstock officer hours later around 12:10 a.m. Friday.

Walsh allegedly told the officer he would, “find out where you live and I will f–k your wife,” the complaint said.

The complaint said Walsh also said he, “knew someone at the Woodstock Police Department that will give me your information.”

The McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office filed petitions to detain Walsh in both cases, arguing he poses a real and present threat to the safety of others.

McHenry County Judge Carl Metz denied the petitions and released Walsh pending trial, court records show.

Walsh was ordered to be placed on pre-trial services supervision, not possess weapons, not leave the state without court permission and submit to random drug screenings.

He was also ordered to have no contact with three Woodstock police officers unless it is part of the officers’ official capacity.

Walsh is scheduled to appear in court again on February 18 for a status of preliminary hearing.
