One person was transported to the hospital after authorities say a car drove off the road and crashed fully into a house in Lake in the Hills Wednesday afternoon.

The Huntley Fire Protection District responded around 2:22 p.m. Wednesday to the 400 block of Ridge Court in Lake in the Hills for a report of a vehicle crash.

Firefighters arrived to find a single passenger vehicle that had crashed into the side of a brick residence, fire officials said.

The vehicle’s driver and sole occupant, an adult male, had exited the vehicle before firefighters arrived.

Paramedics assessed the man and transported him to Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital with minor injuries.

The residents were home at the time of the crash but were uninjured, fire officials said.

Firefighters remained on the scene to oversee the prolonged removal of the vehicle from the home.

Crews worked in coordination with the Lake in the Hills Police Department, the village’s building and zoning department and the tow company.

A board-up company was requested to secure the damaged area of the home until permanent repairs could be made.

The Lake in the Hills Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
