A man was seriously injured after a two-vehicle crash that left a second person injured during snowy weather near Woodstock Wednesday afternoon.
The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District and McHenry County Sheriff’s Office responded around 4:25 p.m. Wednesday to the 14600 block of Washington Street in unincorporated Woodstock for a report of a vehicle crash.
Fire crews arrived and found a two-vehicle crash with moderate damage, according to Woodstock Fire/Rescue District Public Information Officer Alex Vucha.
A sedan was located partially in the roadway and off of the road while the other vehicle, a minivan, came to rest off of the roadway in the ditch.
Vucha said paramedics on the scene evaluated both male drivers, who were the sole occupants, for injuries.
A medical helicopter was initially requested for one of the victims but the request was declined due to weather conditions.
One of the drivers suffered serious injuries and the other suffered minor injuries, Vucha said.
Both were transported by ambulances to local hospitals for further treatment.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the crash. It is unknown if either driver was cited or charged.
