A woman was injured after she lost control, drove off the roadway and crashed into a large warehouse in Libertyville that was formerly occupied by Medline Industries.

The Libertyville Fire Department and Libertyville Police Department responded around 10:15 a.m. Wednesday to 1501 Harris Road for a report of a car crash involving the building.

Libertyville Assistant Fire Chief Mike Hall said a woman was traveling eastbound on Peterson Road.

She lost control of her small passenger car and drove off the roadway and struck the large warehouse.

The car struck the northeast corner of the building, resulting in moderate damage to the car, Hall said.

The 600,000-square-foot building was structurally intact but sustained cosmetic damage, including broken windows.

Hall said the woman was out of the vehicle when first responders arrived. She was the sole occupant.

She suffered minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

The building was formerly occupied by Medline Industries but is currently vacant and no one was inside.

A board-up company was called to the scene to board up the windows until permanent repairs could be made, Hall said.
