Four people were injured, two of which were hospitalized, after a two-vehicle crash left one car rolled over on Interstate 90 near Marengo Saturday afternoon.

The Hampshire Fire Protection District and Illinois State Police responded around 3:40 p.m. Saturday to westbound Interstate 90 at milepost 37.5 near Marengo for a report of a vehicle crash with entrapment.

Fire officials said a two-vehicle crash occurred with heavy damage and one vehicle rolled over near Getty Road.

A preliminary investigation showed a Hyundai Palisade and a Hyundai Santa Fe were both driving westbound on Interstate 90, according to an Illinois State Police (ISP) spokesperson.

The Hyundai Palisade changed lanes and struck the rear end of the Hyundai Santa Fe for unknown reasons.

The Hyundai Santa Fe left the roadway to the right and continued through the grassy area where it struck a fence and came to rest.
