No injuries were reported after a vehicle crashed into a restaurant in downtown Antioch Thursday morning, causing significant damage, officials said.
The Antioch Police Department responded around 8:10 a.m. Thursday to Rivalry Alehouse, 945 Main Street, for a report of a vehicle crash.
Village officials said officers arrived and found a 2006 Volvo crashed into the restaurant.
The driver, a 43-year-old Antioch woman, was uninjured and the business was closed at the time.
She told officers that she pulled her car into the parking lot to clear ice from the windshield.
While the driver was still inside the car, she thought the vehicle was in park and it drove forward, crashing into the south side of the building.
Village officials said the building sustained significant damage.
The building department responded and a board-up service will be securing the building.
The driver was issued citations for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving without valid registration and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
Rivalry Alehouse said late Thursday morning that they will still be open on Thursday despite the crash.
