Two Highland Park police officers responding to an emergency call crashed their squad cars into each other in Highland Park, authorities said.
The incident happened around 8:50 p.m. last Thursday at Central Avenue and Green Bay Road in Highland Park.
Highland Park Communications Manager Amanda Bennett said two marked City of Highland Park squad cars collided in the intersection.
One squad was traveling northbound on Green Bay Road while the other was eastbound on Central Avenue.
The officers were responding to an emergency call for service at the time of the incident, Bennett said, adding that a fire was reported in the business district.
Bennett said no other vehicles were involved and the officers did not report any injuries.
Both police cars had to be towed from the scene. No citations were issued to either officer.
