Alexander W. Maegdlin, 29, of West Dundee.

A man is facing felony charges after court documents say he left a voicemail for a woman in Crystal Lake offering to pay $2,000 to have sex with her juvenile daughter.

Alexander W. Maegdlin, 29, of West Dundee, was charged with obscene message enhanced, two counts of phone harassment and transmitting an obscene message.

A grand jury indictment returned Thursday alleges Maegdlin left a voicemail for a Crystal Lake woman on September 14.

The indictment said Maegdlin offered the woman $2,000 to allow him to have sex with her daughter, who is a child.

The message occurred while Maegdlin was on probation and he was also prohibited by the court from having contact with the woman, the indictment said.

Court records show Maegdlin was on probation for retail theft, a Class 3 felony, after he pleaded guilty to the offense, which occurred in Algonquin, on February 27, 2024.

As part of the plea deal, Maegdlin was sentenced to two years of probation and ordered to pay $1,817 in restitution and $1,236 in court fines and fees.

Maegdlin was also facing charges at that time for stalking in Crystal Lake that occurred in April 2023.

A criminal complaint said Maegdlin communicated with the same Crystal Lake woman obscene voicemails and communicated about her juvenile daughter that he wanted to commit sexual acts with her.

That stalking case was dismissed as part of Maegdlin’s guilty plea in the retail theft case.

Maegdlin was ordered to have no contact with the woman as part of his probation.

Maegdlin was arrested last month after being charged with indecent solicitation, grooming, cyberstalking, sexual exploitation of a child, exploitation and distributing explicit material to a minor for an incident in Fox River Grove.

He is set to be arraigned on the charges on February 27.
