A SWAT team is responding to a standoff with a man near Lake Bluff who made threats and barricaded himself during an attempted eviction Thursday morning.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office said late Thursday morning that deputies and their Tactical Response Team were on the scene in the 200 block of Skokie Highway in unincorporated Lake Bluff.

A person being evicted from their home on the property made threats to law enforcement, the sheriff’s office said.

Sheriff’s officials said the man barricaded himself, prompting the request to the SWAT team to respond.

There is no immediate threat to the surrounding area and the scene is confined to the home.

Traffic on northbound Route 41 north of Route 176 was being impacted due to the incident.

The sheriff’s office said additional information would be released later.
