Sean Schipper, 61, of Crystal Lake.

A Crystal Lake man has been charged after he was reportedly found with a large quantity of meth taped to his body and found in his vehicle in McHenry County.

Sean Schipper, 61, of Crystal Lake, was charged with methamphetamine delivery, possession of methamphetamien over 100 grams, manufacturing or delivery of fentanyl, manufacturing or delivery of cocaine, three counts of bringing a controlled substance into a penal institution, three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, speeding and driving without a seatbelt.

A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court said a traffic stop was conducted on a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee around 12:06 a.m. Saturday by McHenry County sheriff’s deputies.

Schipper was allegedly traveling at 81 mph in a 55 mph zone, which was captured by a deputy’s radar.

The complaint said Schipper was also not wearing a seatbelt at the time.

The traffic stop occurred near Deerpass Road and River Road in unincorporated Marengo.

Deputies found Schipper in possession of approximately 145 grams of methamphetamine, which was within Schipper’s vehicle and “taped to his person,” the complaint said.

The methamphetamine was individually packaged and a scale and a glass pipe were located, the complaint said.

Deputies also found 15-100 grams of fentanyl packaged in two individual containers and 1-15 grams of a substance containing a cocaine base, which was individually packaged.

Schipper allegedly brought fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine into a correctional facility, the complaint added.

The McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office filed a petition to detain Schipper pending trial.

McHenry County Judge Michael Feetterer granted the petition during a court hearing on Saturday.

The judge said the proof was evident and presumption great that the offenses occurred and that Schipper poses a real and present danger to the community, with no conditions of release that could mitigate the danger.
