Lake County Coroner officials have identified a 62-year-old Maywood man as the person killed in a high-speed motorcycle crash in Grayslake.
Preliminary reports show Adolfo Rosario died of blunt force injuries as a result of the crash that took place at about 5:20 p.m. Friday, Lake County Coroner Jennifer Banek said in a news release Monday.
The crash remains under investigation by the Grayslake Police Department and Lake County Major Crash Assistance Teams, Banek said.
Grayslake Police said in a news release witnesses saw the 2022 Suzuki GSX-R motorcycle traveling at an extremely high rate of speed northbound on Route 83 when it failed to navigate a curve as it approached Route 137.
Police said they were called to the crash scene and found the driver had been ejected from the motorcycle.
The driver was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville where he later died, Grayslake Police said in their release.
Banek said the Lake County Coroner’s Office was notified after Rosario died in an operating room at the hospital.
The Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team responded to the scene to assist the Grayslake Police Department in investigating the crash.
Route 83 was shut down for approximately three hours while the crash was investigated by authorities.
