One person was injured following a shooting in North Chicago late Friday night, authorities said.
Assistant Chief Gary Lunn of the North Chicago Police Department said officers were called to the 1300 block of Jackson Street at 11:07 p.m. Friday night for a report of shots being fired.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers found a male subject who had a gunshot wound to the abdomen, Lunn said.
Lunn said the unidentified victim was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
Lunn did not release additional details about the shooting and did not give the current condition of the victim.
People on the Lake & McHenry County Facebook page said they heard 30 gunshots ring out during the incident.
The investigation is ongoing, Lunn said, adding the police department will release additional information when it becomes available.
