A man was transported to the hospital with possible serious injuries after a motorcycle crash outside of Cary Saturday afternoon, fire officials said.

The Cary Fire Protection District and Oakwood Hills Police Department responded around 1:37 p.m. Saturday to the area of Rawson Bridge Road and Valley Drive for a reported motorcycle crash.

Fire crews arrived and located an injured motorcyclist lying on the south shoulder of the roadway, according to Cary Fire Protection District Public Information Officer Alex Vucha.

Paramedics quickly began treatment on the adult male, who was conscious and breathing at the time.

Vucha said additional motorcyclists were riding with the victim at the time of the crash but the victim’s motorcycle was the only one involved.

The man was transported to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington with moderate to serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Oakwood Hills Police Department.
