A driver was transported to the hospital after police say a man in his 60s accidentally drove his car into a medical office building in Lake Zurich Friday afternoon.
The Lake Zurich Police Department and Lake Zurich Fire Rescue Department responded around 12:57 p.m. Friday to 950 West Route 22 for a report of a vehicle crash.
Fire crews arrived to find an SUV that had crashed into the front of a medical office building.
Lake Zurich Deputy Police Chief Colin Gaffney said officers learned a 62-year-old man was driving a 2012 Buick in the parking lot.
The man’s boot got stuck under a pedal, causing him to drive into the building.
There was minor damage to the building but no extensive structural damage was reported, Gaffney said.
The driver was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for an evaluation.
No other injuries were reported in the car or by people inside the building.
A board-up company was called to shore up a damaged window that was struck by the car.
Gaffney said no citations have been issued and the driver has not been arrested.
