Occupants were surprisingly uninjured after an SUV rolled over off Interstate 94 near Libertyville just north of the Lake Forest Oasis, authorities said.

The Libertyville Fire Department and Illinois State Police (ISP) responded around 5:52 p.m. Friday to Interstate 94 between Bradley Road and Route 60 in Libertyville Township for a vehicle crash.

A 911 caller reported a dark colored SUV rolled over in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 94.

Emergency crews arrived and found the crash at the 18-mile marker just north of the Lake Forest Oasis.

A spokesperson for ISP said the crash involved a single-vehicle, a black BMW SUV.

Paramedics evaluated the two occupants of the car and both declined transport to the hospital.

The ISP spokesperson said it does not appear that any citations were issued or charges filed against the driver.

Lin-Mar Towing and Recovery was called to the scene to lift the vehicle over the guardrail and back onto the interstate so it could be towed.
