Two children and an adult were transported to the hospital after a UTV rolled over and trapped one of them underneath near Cary Saturday afternoon.

The Cary Fire Protection District responded around 2:32 p.m. Saturday to the 7100 block of South Rawson Bridge Road in unincorporated Cary for a report of a four-wheeler crash.

Fire crews arrived on the scene within minutes and located an overturned utility task vehicle (UTV), according to Cary Fire Protection District Public Information Officer Alex Vucha.

The vehicle was at the rear of the residential property and an adult male was trapped beneath it.

Firefighters quickly extricated the man and began assessing him for injuries, Vucha said.

All three subjects were transported by ambulance to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington with minor injuries.

“We are thankful that the outcome of this crash resulted in non-life-threatening injuries,” Cary Fire Chief Brad Delatorre said.

“As the weather continues to warm, we remind residents to use extra caution when operating off-road vehicles and watercraft. These activities can quickly turn dangerous, even in familiar surroundings,” Delatorre said.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause and circumstances of the crash.
