Organizers say over 2,000 people attended a protest in Highland Park demonstrating against President Donald Trump and Elon Musk on Saturday afternoon.

A countywide “day of action” rally was organized by the Lake County Democrats, Moraine Township Democrats and other grassroots groups.

Lake County Democrats said more than 2,000 people peacefully demonstrated in Highland Park on Saturday.

The attendees were protesting against President Donald Trump, Elon Musk and their “MAGA allies.”

“People are fed up by what they’ve seen, and alarmed by what extreme, harmful action is coming next from Trump and Musk,” Lake County Democrats Chair Lauren Beth Gash said.

“Today’s demonstration made clear that the people of Lake County are actively resisting the idea of a return to a tyrant and a king to rule us. 250 years after our Revolutionary War began, we’re saying no kings. Trump certainly isn’t all-knowing, otherwise he wouldn’t have failed so miserably to bring down prices on day one like he promised to do,” Beth Gash said.
