Police say they are investigating numerous reports of theft of mail across various neighborhoods in McHenry as they seek help in identifying the suspect or suspects.
The McHenry Police Department said Sunday morning that they have been made aware of the theft of mail in various neighborhoods across McHenry.
Officers are working to narrow down the timeframe of the thefts.
Some mail was recovered during the overnight hours from Saturday into Sunday.
Anyone with surveillance cameras is asked to check their cameras for any suspicious activity.
Some of the known streets that the thefts occurred on are Bode Lane, Argyle Lane, Cross Trail, Kresswood Drive, Dartmoor Drive, Waterford Drive and Farmstead Drive.
Police said it is unknown yet if those are the only streets where the thefts occurred.
Patrol and investigation teams are actively working on the case.
