Police say they are investigating after a burglary crew broke into multiple businesses simultaneously in a shopping center in North Chicago during overnight hours.
The North Chicago Police Department responded early Friday morning to the 2700 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
North Chicago Assistant Police Chief Gary Lunn said officers were alerted to the burglaries in the shopping center after receiving burglar alarm activations.
Officers arrived and found four businesses had been burglarized simultaneously, Lunn said.
Those businesses included Speedy Taco, Vape Cloud Smoke Shop and Wingstop. It was unknown which business the fourth was.
Video surveillance showed a sedan pull up in the parking lot of the center and four suspects exit the vehicle.
The suspects forced entry through the front doors of the businesses. At least one suspect used what appeared to be a brick.
The suspects stole cash and products before fleeing the scene in the vehicle prior to police arriving.
Lunn said the investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been announced yet.
