One person was injured and remains in serious condition following a motor scooter accident in unincorporated McHenry County near McHenry Saturday, officials said.
Battalion Chief Jason Daun of the Wauconda Fire Protection District said units were called to the 5000 block of South Wildwood Drive in unincorporated McHenry County for an unconscious and unresponsive male adult who crashed while driving a full-size electric scooter at about 9:56 a.m.
While en route, Daun said dispatch radioed that bystanders had begun CPR on the victim involved in the crash.
Daun said crews took over upon arrival and transported the victim to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington.
He said the victim is listed as being in serious condition.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, Daun said.

He added that Island Lake Police assisted at the scene until McHenry County Sheriff deputies were able to arrive.
