Six people were injured in a rollover crash with entrapment on Petersen Road in Grayslake Sunday afternoon, authorities said.
Grayslake Fire District Battalion Chief Jim Weidman said crews were called to Petersen Road, located between Route 83 and Midlothian Road, for an accident with injuries at 3:24 p.m.
Upon arrival, crews saw a Corvette had collided with an SUV, and the SUV had rolled over, Weidman said.
Weidman said there were six total patients involved in the crash.
Three people had to be extricated from damaged vehicles, Weidman said.
One had been ejected from a vehicle due to the crash, Weidman said.
He said extrication took about 25 minutes.
One patient was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville in serious condition, while the remaining five were transported to Condell in stable condition, Weidman said.
Ambulances from Libertyville, Countryside, Mundelein, and Round Lake fire districts assisted Grayslake in transporting victims to the hospital, Weidman said. Lake Zurich also responded to the crash with an engine and manpower.
The roadway remained shut down at 5:30 p.m. while the Grayslake Police Department continued to investigate the accident.
