No injuries were reported after a truck lost its payload while turning onto a Route 41 entrance ramp near Lake Cook Road on the border of Deerfield.

Deputy Chief Matt Vanderweel of the Northbrook Fire Department said it was unclear if the truck had an unbalanced load that shifted or if the shipping container was not correctly buckled in.

The truck driver tried to turn onto the southbound Route 41 exit ramp from westbound Lake Cook Road near Buffalo Grove around 6:27 a.m. Thursday.

Vanderweel said the shipping container spilled off the side of the trailer and landed on the exit ramp, resulting in traffic being blocked in the intersection.

He said no one was pinned in or injured when the truck lost its payload.

Traffic in the area was tied up while the shipping container was moved out of the way, Vanderweel said.
