Police officials said no injuries were reported after a car went off the roadway and landed in a small creek in Algonquin.

Algonquin Police Sgt. Kory Koehler said the driver was at Route 31 and Edwood Drive at 7:56 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, when the vehicle left the roadway.

The car clipped a street barrier before slamming into a small creek that runs under Route 31.

Koehler did not say why the vehicle swerved off the roadway.

Airbags were deployed on the vehicle, photos show.

Photos also show that the front end of the car was smashed because of the crash.

Koehler said the driver of the vehicle was treated at the scene and released by emergency personnel from the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District.

Algonquin Police cited the driver with driving too fast for conditions, Koehler said.
