Three people were injured and two were hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash near Woodstock, fire officials said.

The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded to the intersection of Country Club Road and Bull Valley Road on Tuesday at 10:50 a.m. for a reported motor vehicle crash, said Woodstock Fire/Rescue District Public Information Officer Alex Vucha.

He said crews arrived within minutes and found a two-vehicle crash with moderate damage.

Both vehicles had come to rest in the ditch near the intersection, Vucha said.

After a brief assessment, two additional ambulances were requested to the scene to assist with patient care.

A total of three individuals were evaluated by paramedics, Vucha said, and two patients were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The third declined additional medical attention while on scene, Vucha said.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the crash, Vucha said
