A crew of six suspects has been charged after the sheriff said they were responsible for over 100 burglaries at liquor stores in Lake County and other nearby counties.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded in December to a burglary at a liquor store in the 20600 block of Milwaukee Avenue in unincorporated Deerfield.
Sheriff’s detectives conducted an investigation and learned that there were six individuals responsible for committing the burglary, according to Lake County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Chief Christopher Covelli.

Sheriff’s detectives worked with other detectives from across the Chicagoland region.
They determined the crew was responsible for over 110 other liquor store burglaries throughout Lake, Cook and DuPage counties, Covelli said.
Covelli said sheriff’s detectives and other police department detectives worked with the Illinois Attorney General’s Office due to it involving an organized criminal enterprise.
Demario M. Brown, Dequane J. Hall and Darryl D. Williamson were each charged with one count of organized retail crime, a Class 3 felony, and two counts of burglary, a Class 2 felony.
Williamson was additionally charged with a third count of burglary and one count of attempted burglary.
