A Lake in the Hills man has been charged with possession of child pornography following a police investigation in Palatine, authorities said.
Konrad Skora, 31, is charged with a class 2 felony count of possession of child pornography by the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, officials said.
In March of 2025, federal law enforcement authorities contacted Palatine Police regarding evidence recovered from a hard drive previously in the possession of a former Palatine resident.
The device was found to contain numerous files consistent with child sexual abuse material, adding some of the files depicted victims under the age of 13, authorities said.
Following a thorough investigation by Palatine Police detectives, authorities said Skora was identified as the individual responsible for the possession of the device with the illicit material.
Skora was taken into custody without incident on June 30, authorities said, and was transported to the Cook County 3rd District Courthouse in Rolling Meadows.
During a later detention hearing, Skora was ordered detained until his next court hearing, authorities said.
Skora is due back in Cook County court on July 25, authorities said.
