A worker was flown to the hospital with serious injuries after he fell at a Weber manufacturing plant in Huntley Thursday morning, fire officials said.
The Huntley Fire Protection District responded around 8:47 a.m. Thursday to Weber-Stephen Products LLC, 11803 Oak Creek Parkway in Huntley, for a report of a victim bleeding.
Paramedics arrived and found an injured worker and requested a medical helicopter be placed on standby.
Huntley Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Eric Bentley said a worker had fallen and suffered serious injuries.
An ambulance transported the adult male victim to the helipad at Northwestern Medicine Hospital in Huntley.
The LifeNet medical helicopter landed at the hospital helipad and the victim was transferred to the helicopter, Bentley said.
The helicopter airlifted the worker to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, which is a Level 1 trauma center.
Huntley Fire Protection District Public Information Officer Alex Vucha said the worker fell off a loading dock and struck his head.
Weber is a manufacturer of gas, charcoal and electric grills and accessories. The company manufactures its products at the Huntley location.
Fire officials did not provide an update on the victim’s condition or further details on what caused him to fall.
