Prosecutors say a drug dealer from Gurnee is facing up to 40 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to homicide for delivering fentanyl-laced drugs that killed a Grayslake native and father of two.
Terrell I. Christor, 37, of Gurnee, pleaded guilty to first-degree reckless homicide for causing the fatal overdose of a 32-year-old Kenosha father in 2023.
Kenosha County District Attorney Xavier Solis said the case stems from Christor delivering heroin laced with fentanyl to a Kenosha father, which resulted in the victim’s death at his residence.
The victim, Kyle P. Hadle, 33, was found unresponsive in his bedroom by a family friend in late June 2023, according to a criminal complaint filed in court.
Attempts to revive him with Narcan were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hadle, a Grayslake native, was one of five siblings and known for his “radiant smile that could light up a room,” his obituary said.
“Kyle had a witty sense of humor, a heart full of kindness and a soul that touched others deeply. His proudest accomplishment was being a father, his children were his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them,” the obituary said.
Detectives with the Kenosha Police Department traced digital evidence, including cash app payments, Facebook messages and cell phone location data.
The evidence linked Christor directly to the delivery of the fatal dose, Solis said.
“This conviction holds accountable a dealer who profited from poisoning our community,” Solis said.
“The victim was a father of two small children, and his life was cut short by a lethal cocktail of drugs pushed into our county from across state lines. Our office will continue to pursue justice for victims and their families,” Solis said.
Christor has been held in the Kenosha County Jail since his arrest in November 2023 on a $100,000 bond.
He faces up to 40 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.
A sentencing hearing is scheduled for September 17 in front of Kenosha County Judge Jason Rossell.
