Unincorporated Grayslake residents have been displaced after a fire that started in a vehicle spread and damaged their home late Friday night.
The Grayslake Fire Protection District was called to the 33000 block of Oakland Drive at 11:39 p.m. late Friday for a vehicle fire, authorities said.
Upon arrival, fire and rescue personnel found a vehicle fully engulfed in flames with the fire extending to the home, authorities said.
Due to fire hydrant issues, additional crews were called to the scene to assist in putting out the blaze, authorities said.
Crews were able to extinguish the fire, then performed an overhaul to make sure there was no fire extension into the home.
There were no injuries to residents of the home and firefighters on the scene, officials said.
The fire is currently under investigation, authorities said, and a damage estimate is unavailable.
The Grayslake Fire Protection District was assisted at the scene by firefighters from Gurnee, Countryside, Libertyville, and Mundelein, authorities said.
