A man was hospitalized after a motorcycle crashed into the back of another motorcycle on Interstate 94 near Lake Forest, causing lane closures Monday evening.
The Lake Forest Fire Department, Libertyville Fire Department and Illinois State Police (ISP) responded around 8:37 p.m. Monday to Interstate 94 near the Lake Forest Oasis in Lake County for a vehicle crash with injuries.
Troop 3 troopers arrived to find a vehicle crash involving two motorcycles, according to an ISP spokesperson.
A trooper at the scene reported multiple lanes were blocked and the motorcycle driver was down in the roadway.
ISP said a preliminary investigation showed the motorcycle was traveling behind another motorcycle in the southbound lanes when it collided into the other.
One person was transported to an area hospital with injuries, ISP said. Their condition was not known.
A trooper at the scene reported the male victim was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with injuries believed to not be life-threatening.
Lane closures were put into place during the crash investigation, which occurred just north of the Lake Forest Oasis. All lanes were reopened around 9:10 p.m.
ISP said further information regarding what caused the crash and the extent of injuries was not available.
