A 28-year-old man from Lake Zurich was seriously injured after he crashed his motorcycle into another motorcycle and lost control in Tower Lakes, the sheriff said.

The Wauconda Fire District and Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded around 1 a.m. Saturday to the area of Route 59 and Roberts Road in Tower Lakes for a vehicle crash with injuries.

Lake County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Chief Christopher Covelli said deputies arrived to find a 28-year-old Lake Zurich man injured following a two-vehicle crash.

Deputies learned the man was riding a 2024 Kawasaki motorcycle with his friend, a 30-year-old Lake Zurich man, who was on a Yamaha motorcycle.

The 30-year-old man reported that the two were traveling together when the Kawasaki rider attempted to pass on the right at a higher speed.

The driver of the Kawasaki struck the Yamaha during the maneuver, Covelli said.

The 28-year-old’s Kawasaki then tipped over and slid along its left side.

No citations have been issued yet and no charges have been filed.
