The first Chick-fil-A restaurant in McHenry will officially open its doors next week and the restaurant chain is offering free food to customers who dress up as a cow.

Chick-fil-A is set to open its first McHenry location at 6:30 a.m. on August 28 at 1911 Richmond Road.

The company selected Avery Moore as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A McHenry.

The restaurant opening will create approximately 100 jobs.

Moore and her team are calling on the community to “show their spots” on opening day to celebrate.

Guests of all ages can wear a full cow suit or a simple cow-spotted accessory to win free food.

Anyone who visits the restaurant on opening day dressed in the cow attire can redeem a free entrée or kid’s meal inside or in the drive-thru.

Chick-fil-A McHenry will serve customers Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. while offering dine-in, drive-thru, carry-out, catering and Mobile Thru.

“Chick-fil-A has been part of my story in countless ways, from becoming my first job to helping pay my college tuition and introducing me to my husband, Elijah,” Moore said.

“Now, I’m grateful for the opportunity to pay forward the same opportunities I was given and serve this great community. My hope is to build a place where Guests and Team Members feel genuinely cared for every time they come to my restaurant,” Moore said.

Moore began her career with Chick-fil-A in 2017. She said she discovered her passion for serving others while working as a Team Member.

She said she joined the Chick-fil-A Leadership Development Program to further her skills, both personally and within the restaurant business.

The restaurant is giving back to the McHenry community by celebrating the opening with a $25,000 donation from Chick-fil-A, Inc. to Feeding America in honor of the new restaurant.

The funds will be distributed to partners in the greater Chicagoland area to aid in the fight against hunger.

The restaurant will also be participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, which redirects surplus food to local nonprofits, a program that has helped to create over 35 million meals nationwide to date.
