The medical examiner’s office has identified an 18-year-old man who died following a crash with a truck while riding his motorcycle in Buffalo Grove Friday evening.
The Buffalo Grove Police Department, Buffalo Grove Fire Department and Arlington Heights Fire Department responded around 5:35 p.m. Friday to the area of Buffalo Grove Road and Flentie Lane for a vehicle crash with injuries.
A 911 caller reported a crash involving a red pickup truck and a motorcycle.
The motorcycle rider was reported to be bleeding from the head following the collision.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Jeremi Klodzinski, 18, of Wheeling.
Officers arrived and reported Klodzinski was unconscious and not breathing with no pulse.
Firefighters and paramedics arrived and reported the motorcyclist was face down in the roadway.
Emergency crews began performing lifesaving measures on the unresponsive victim, police officials said.
An ambulance transported Klodzinski to Endeavor Health Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
Klodzinski was pronounced dead around 6:15 p.m. in the hospital, according to the medical examiner’s office.
The motorcycle came to rest in the northbound lane of Buffalo Grove Road just north of University Drive and the pickup truck remained at the scene and parked on Flentie Lane following the collision.
The driver of the pickup truck did not suffer any apparent injuries and is cooperating with the investigation.
Police completely shut down Buffalo Grove Road between Flentie Lane and Park Place for several hours before being reopened around 10:25 p.m.
The Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT) was activated to assist in the crash reconstruction and investigation.
The cause of the crash has not been determined yet and the investigation remains ongoing. No citations or charges have been issued.
