A man escaped uninjured after an unusual crash caused a parked car to roll over through the garage door of a house in Wonder Lake Friday morning, authorities said.

The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded around 9:01 a.m. Friday to the 9800 block of Creekside Drive in Wonder Lake for a report of a vehicle crash with possible injuries.

Woodstock Fire/Rescue District Public Information Officer Alex Vucha said fire crews arrived and located a two-vehicle crash.

Both cars came to rest in the driveway of a two-story residential home.

First responders learned that a Jeep, driven by an elderly man, had crashed into a parked vehicle in the driveway, Vucha said.

The impact caused the parked car to roll over and through the garage door of the home.

The parked car came to rest on its passenger side and was partially inside the garage.

The driver was out of the Jeep upon arrival of the fire department and was uninjured in the crash.

The home was occupied at the time but no injuries were reported by the occupants, Vucha said.

Firefighters secured the vehicles and confirmed that no structural damage was sustained to the residence.

The fire department remained on the scene for approximately 45 minutes before returning to service.

It is unknown if any citations or charges have been filed. The cause of the crash is being investigated by the Wonder Lake Police Department.
