An Illinois Lottery player won a “life-changing” $3 million prize in Tuesday evening’s Mega Millions drawing after purchasing the ticket at a gas station in McHenry.

The ticket was sold at the Bull Valley Trio convenience store and BP gas station, located at 5301 Bull Valley Road in McHenry.

The “life-changing” winning ticket scored a $3 million prize in Tuesday evening’s Mega Millions drawing, according to the Illinois Lottery.

The ticket matched all five white ball numbers drawn on Tuesday — 2, 18, 27, 34, 59 — but missed the Mega Ball, which was 18.

The three-times multiplier added means the player’s prize tripled to $3 million.

Melissa Motroni, the Store Manager of Bull Valley Trio, said her store last month sold a $10,000 winning scratch-off ticket and now the $3 million ticket.

“I guess you can say we’re a lucky store. Everyone’s excited to see who the winner is!” Motroni said.

Bull Valley Trio will receive a $30,000 bonus, which is 1% of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.

“We have no idea who the winner is yet, but we’re all hoping it’s one of our regulars,” Motroni said.

“We’re looking forward to celebrating this amazing win with them,” she added.

The Mega Millions jackpot has now soared to $680 million for the upcoming drawing on Friday.

Mega Millions tickets are $5 each and include a randomly assigned multiplier that improves all winning non-jackpot prizes by two times, three times, four times, five times or 10 times.

Winners have one year from the date of the winning draw to claim their prize.

The Illinois Lottery said it encourages winners to write their name on the back of their ticket and keep it in a safe place until they are ready to claim their prize.
