Emergency crews arrived and found a victim down on the ground along Harmony Road west of Briar Hill Road.

A preliminary investigation showed that an 18-year-old Marengo man was riding a skateboard, according to the sheriff’s office.

Sheriff’s officials said the man was along or near the white edge line of the eastbound lane of travel.

The crash remains under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Investigation Unit.
