A heavy police response was seen amid a death investigation after two people were found unresponsive inside a vehicle in a Crystal Lake neighborhood Tuesday morning.
The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department and Crystal Lake Police Department responded around 5:35 a.m. Tuesday to the 700 block of Coventry Lane for a medical call.
Police officers arrived and reported finding a male and a female in a vehicle, according to emergency radio traffic. Both were unconscious and not breathing.
Two ambulances and two fire engines were dispatched to the scene and officers began performing CPR on the victims.
Paramedics arrived and confirmed both victims were still unresponsive and took over lifesaving measures.
The fire department cleared from the scene around 6:25 a.m. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
A heavy police presence was reported at the scene throughout the morning on Tuesday.
Officers set up crime scene tape around the scene as they worked to investigate the incident.
The car involved was parked on South Coventry Court near Coventry Lane.
The McHenry County Coroner’s Office confirmed to Lake and McHenry County Scanner that they were called to the scene.
The coroner’s office said they were still at the scene and could not confirm further circumstances yet. They expect to release additional information at a later time.
The Crystal Lake Police Department has not released any information on the incident as of late Tuesday morning.
