No injuries were reported following a crash that caused heavy damage and left one vehicle rolled over on its roof along Route 14 near Woodstock Saturday morning.
The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District and McHenry County Sheriff’s Office responded around 8:38 a.m. Saturday to the intersection of Route 14 and Hughes Road in unincorporated Woodstock for a vehicle crash with entrapment.
Woodstock Fire/Rescue District Public Information Officer Alex Vucha said several 911 callers reported that one of the vehicles had overturned and that two occupants were unable to get out.
A medical helicopter was initially placed on standby due to the unknown extent of injuries.
Fire crews arrived a short time later and found a two-vehicle crash that occurred in the intersection, Vucha said.
One vehicle, a Jeep Wrangler, sustained heavy damage and rolled over onto its roof, coming to rest in the ditch.
Vucha said all occupants had exited the vehicle prior to the fire department arriving.
The driver and passenger of the rolled-over vehicle were evaluated by paramedics and declined transport to the hospital.
The second vehicle, a Buick sedan, came to rest in the roadway and sustained moderate front-end damage.
The driver of the second vehicle, who was the sole occupant, also declined transport to the hospital after evaluation, Vucha said.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause and circumstances of the crash.
