One person was hospitalized after a car crashed into a second vehicle, causing it to roll over and block a busy intersection in Grayslake, police said.
The Grayslake Police Department and Grayslake Fire Protection District responded around 3:50 p.m. Thursday to the area of Route 83 and Route 120 for a vehicle crash with injuries.
Emergency crews arrived and found a two-vehicle crash that left one vehicle rolled over onto its side.
Fire crews confirmed no one was trapped inside either of the cars but two ambulances were called to the scene.
Grayslake Deputy Police Chief Matthew Gore said an initial investigation showed a Honda CR-V was eastbound on Route 120 and made a left turn onto northbound Route 83.
The Honda collided with a Nissan Rogue, which was stopped in the southbound Route 83 left turn lane, as it made the turn.
The crash caused the Honda to roll over onto its passenger side. Both drivers were evaluated by paramedics at the scene but declined transport to the hospital.
Gore said a passenger in the Nissan was transported by ambulance to the hospital for further evaluation.
Officers issued multiple citations to the driver of the Honda for causing the crash, Gore said.
Tow trucks were called to the scene to upright the rolled-over car and remove both damaged vehicles from the scene.
